Parkside Berrimah is a new residential estate in Darwin, Northern Territory, that aims to provide “exclusive quality of life for current NT residents and future NT generations.”

The estate is being developed by the Keogh family and is a result of the Territory Government’s Berrimah North Area Plan.

Clouston Associates has specified a range of highly-durable street furniture for a community playground and gathering space, installed by DTA Contractors.

The Linea range has been selected for benches and picnic settings, with anodised aluminium battens to combat Darwin’s hot climate (see our Goldilocks temperature study for a comparison of batten materials and their properties).

Frames in Jaybird Blue add pops of colour to the Linea suite. These stainless steel frames are incredibly strong for vandal-resistance, and when paired with the anodised battens make for very low-maintenance furniture – only requiring a wipe down with soapy water when necessary.

The playground also features Escola Bin Enclosures to help the community keep the area clean, an Arqua Drinking Fountain and Spiral Hoop bicycle parking to further enhance the amenity of the space.

The Parkside development has supported around 100 jobs and contributed $8.5m into the NT economy, according to the NT Government.
