Wide Bay Hospital QLD, Australia (2022)

An array of colourful, flexible street furniture brightens an underused courtyard at Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service’s Hervey Bay Community Health Centre.

The Aria Seating System creates an S-shape, paired with Cafe Settings and Linea Cubes to offer patients and staff places to rest outside in the fresh air.

The modular Aria system can be configured into site-specific designs using the Build Aria app – to drag-and-drop seat, bench and connector modules, and visualise colours, plinths, arms and legs in 3D.

Wide Bay has selected Sensation Orange, Jaybird Blue and Viper Green battens from the DuraBright anti-fade powder coat range, paired with a Textura Monument frame and 90 degree connector panels. These materials require only a wipe-down with soapy water when neccessary.

Frame Planters help to bring greenery and soften the space, and Spiral Hoop bicycle parking provides further amenity for the community.

California State University

California State University has selected modular, customisable seating and tables from the Linea and Aria range to furnish meet-up and study spaces that offer social distancing options on campus in Sacramento, US. Project Manager, Facilities Management, Tania Nunez, said Street Furniture Australia’s customisable range was a timely find for the project, recommended by our partners Spruce & Gander, who represent our products in nine US states. The Spruce & Gander team were able to help navigate the existing site layout, propose a plan for its intended use, and provide flexible options for Aria and Linea utilising the school’s colours. Nunez says the outcome has fulfilled the university’s aim to offer welcoming open-air spaces for students and staff to enjoy. She says, “For outdoor, socially-distanced gathering spaces in response to Covid-19, …

The Loganlea Road project is the first capital works completed through Council’s $5 million Meadowbrook Implementation Fund. The Queensland state government also contributed $2.4 million from the Unite and Recover Fund. The installation includes a wide shared pathway for pedestrians and cyclists, with frequent seating offering many opportunities to rest, trees for shade, bicycle parking stands, litter bins to keep the street tidy and public art designed by local community artists. “Streetscape enhancements including pedestrian, cycle and public transport infrastructure as well as safer pedestrian connectivity were core to the project’s vision,” said …
