California State University US (2022)

California State University has selected modular, customisable seating and tables from the Linea and Aria range to furnish meet-up and study spaces that offer social distancing options on campus in Sacramento, US.

Project Manager, Facilities Management, Tania Nunez, said Street Furniture Australia’s customisable range was a timely find for the project, recommended by our partners Spruce & Gander, who represent our products in nine US states.

The Spruce & Gander team were able to help navigate the existing site layout, propose a plan for its intended use, and provide flexible options for Aria and Linea utilising the school’s colours. Nunez says the outcome has fulfilled the university’s aim to offer welcoming open-air spaces for students and staff to enjoy.

She says, “For outdoor, socially-distanced gathering spaces in response to Covid-19, the Linea and Aria lines offered unique solutions. The variety of layout options and colourful finishes helped us to brighten our aesthetic environment.

“We look forward to seeing our campus community enjoy our comfortable climate in these newly-created spaces.”

3D visualisations helped the client to evaluate the options.

Aria Curved Benches, Linea Cubes, Aria Lookout Tables and Cafe Stools were selected for the project.

Curved modules for the Aria Seating System create C-shape configurations, ideal for students to meet together. The benches feature Shamrock Green and Viper Green battens, with Woodland Grey connectors and frames.

For individual work and rest, Aria Lookout Tables paired with Cafe Stools offer a place to work on a laptop, or read a book – ideal for narrow thoroughfares where space is a premium.

Colourful Linea Cubes provide further seating options, styled at an angle for a sense of casual welcome.

All furniture is powder coated in shades of green – Shamrock, Viper and Lycra Strip – and grey, with Woodland Grey connectors and battens and aluminium woodgrain Beach Oak Grey battens for a timber look with minimal maintenance.
