Street Furniture Australia is pleased to welcome Mel West and Lisa McPherson as Queensland Business Development Managers, expanding our presence across the state.

With both based locally, the appointments mark a new chapter of growth in Queensland, bringing us closer to landscape architects, councils and industry partners to support the delivery of durable, welcoming public spaces.

Mel West

For many landscape architects, Mel is already a familiar face. Previously Queensland Chapter Manager at the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA), she worked closely with practitioners across the state through advocacy, professional development and industry engagement. Mel brings extensive experience in relationship management and stakeholder engagement, together with strong connections across Queensland’s built environment sector.

I’m excited to continue supporting the landscape architecture and design community while building new relationships with councils and other industry partners across Queensland.

Lisa McPherson

With more than 20 years’ experience in the construction industry, Lisa has worked as a specification representative with companies including ACO Australia and Shaw Contract Australia. Throughout her career, she has worked closely with landscape architects, councils, architects, developers and contractors across Queensland, developing a deep understanding of the specification process and helping clients find practical solutions from design through to delivery.

Joining Street Furniture Australia felt like a natural next step because it combines everything I enjoy – working with great people, reconnecting with familiar faces and seeing the variety of good work happening across Queensland.

Four months into their roles, the pair have been presenting to landscape architecture practices, reconnecting with long-standing industry contacts and meeting new clients. Visiting completed projects and seeing Street Furniture Australia products being enjoyed by local communities has been among the highlights of their first few months.

With Brisbane preparing for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the need for high-quality street furniture has never been greater. Mel and Lisa will play a key role in supporting projects across Queensland, helping create a lasting legacy of durable, sustainable public spaces for years to come.
