A well-designed bin improves the experience of the entire public realm.

The affection we develop for public space often lies in the quality of its details. While thoughtful landscape design attracts people, ongoing cleanliness and maintenance shape how a place is experienced—affecting comfort, wellbeing and the willingness to stay.

Waste infrastructure plays a critical role in that experience. Well-maintained bins help keep public spaces clean, supporting longer visits and positive social interaction. Conversely, overflowing, damaged or leaking bins contribute to litter, detract from the landscape and can reinforce perceptions of neglect and reduced safety.

A better bin solution

Street Furniture Australia’s new Aria Bin is a modular litter system that combines functionality with a refined aesthetic to address common shortcomings of public waste infrastructure, with improvements to performance and appearance to meet the requirements of landscape architects, asset managers and the communities they serve.

Flexibility for Designers

Three outdoor waste bins in a row: left a light wood-slatted bin with a blue frame, center a wood-and-gray bin labeled 'General Waste', right a dark gray bin with a kangaroo illustration.

Endlessly customisable, Aria Bin can be configured by mixing and matching materials, colours, patterns and signage to suit specific projects and changing environments.

Waste Managers can change panels on site

Interchangeable panels can be readily replaced on site with standard tools, without the need to replace the entire bin and with no down time. Panels also create new opportunities for personalisation, commercial advertising, and decorative opportunities to promote community events throughout the year.

Keeping it clean for the community

Aria bin features angled surfaces calculated to shed water and prevent ingress. The bins hygienic stainless steel splash tray is safe (no sharp gaps), easy to clean and funnels litter.

Easy to read and understand

Aria Bin’s integrated signage follows best practice for sight impaired people.

Built to Last

The bin has undergone thousands of rounds of rigorous in-house testing to mimic years of wear and tear in the public realm. It is built from high quality materials with a stainless steel piano hinge door, multiple lock options and adjustable feet mounting (because no ground is perfectly level).

Should vandalism occur, components are backed by our right-to-repair, with panels easily replaceable on site.
