As a national partner Street Furniture Australia is proudly supporting the AILA 2023 Festival of Landscape Architecture UN/EARTH on Kaurna Meyunna Yerta (Kaurna People’s Country) and surrounding regions on 19-22 October 2023.
Here are seven of our upcoming festival highlights:
1. UN/EARTH program now available
The festival program brings together streams of thought that engage with the elements and life below and within the earth’s surface, with four themes: DEEP EARTH / RAW EARTH / FERTILE EARTH / SUBTERRANEAN EARTH.
Theoretical conversations and talks, presented by international speakers during the conference at the Adelaide National Wine Centre, are enriched by walks and expeditions on Country.

2. Official Welcome to Country
The official Festival Welcome to Country ceremony by Jamie Goldsmith with Kardla Miyurna performers.
Date: Thursday 19 October. Time: 4.00pm to 5.30pm. Location: Advised on rsvp. Cost: Free for festival attendees, rsvp essential via the AILA online portal or email festival@aila.org.au.
3. 2023 AILA National Landscape Architecture Awards Ceremony
The national awards celebrates exemplary landscape architecture projects from around the country, with all 2023 state recipients progressing to the final. Cheer on the winning projects while networking with peers, then enjoy the musical stylings of South Australian singer-songwriter Surahn Sidhu.
Date: Thursday 19 October. Time: 6.30pm to 10.30pm. Location: Adelaide Festival Centre, King William Rd, Adelaide. Cost: Purchase your ticket with AILA.
4. Good Cause Giveaway
View the latest Linea seating products at the conference including Seats, Benches and Cubes, curated by the Festival Creative Directors. Street Furniture Australia is donating the $45k worth of show-products to a local charity project in Adelaide after the event. The winner will be selected by the Creative Directorate and announced on Day 1 of the UN/EARTH conference.

5. AILA Fellows Dinner (invitation-only)
The Fellows Dinner is back! AILA Fellows are invited to connect and enjoy a delicious dinner at the award-winning restaurant at The Lion Hotel. Sponsored by Street Furniture Australia and WE-EF.
Date: Friday 20 October. Time: From 7.30pm. Location: The Lion Hotel, 161 Melbourne St, North Adelaide. Cost: Free, by invitation, rsvp essential to AILA.
6. The Street Furniture Australia After Party
Relax and conclude this year’s festival with fun giveaways (see below) and complimentary food and drinks at this Garden Bar party at the chic Electra House Hotel. This is an exclusive event for AILA Festival attendees only.

Street Furniture Australia has donated $45k of Linea show-products to Baptist Care SA’s WestCare Centre, a project nominated by Swanbury Penglase, as part of the Good Cause Giveaway for the 2023 Festival of Landscape Architecture: UN/EARTH. Now in its third year, the 2023 Good Cause Giveaway received six fantastic entries from landscape architects and Councils for local Adelaide projects, with the winner selected by the UN/EARTH Festival Creative Directorate. Cumberland City Council, the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects and Street Furniture Australia in November co-hosted a factory tour and knowledge exchange for Councils about creating great public spaces and local manufacturing. Guest speakers presented enriching case studies and conversations about Country, climate, culture and community at the Street Furniture Australia factory, which is located within the Cumberland LGA in Western Sydney. 55 people attended the event.
