Queen Victoria Building Bus Shelters NSW, Australia (1980)

The design brief for the QVB Bus Shelter required a contemporary design solution which integrated with the historic Queen Victoria Building and precinct. The form of the shelter reflects the line and character of the QVB building and is also reminiscent of Sydney’s earlier tram-car system of public transport. The shelters have fabricated aluminium roofs supported by cast aluminium cross-arms which provide for the concealed disposal of roof-water. The design received a Merit Award in Urban Design from the Royal Australian Institute of Architects in 1987.
