In 2007, Parramatta City Council installed new seating at the city’s central Bus Station. Concourse Seats (aluminium) offer a modular seating system for transport terminals that is both comfortable and sophisticated. At Parramatta Bus Station, the Concourse Seats were modified to allow seating for up to five people per seat, and the pedestal/post legs were painted in Lemon Yellow to tie-in with the surrounding colour scheme. The addition of armrests allows for adequate space per individual.
Pairs of Mall Seats sit proudly on the two platforms of Circular Quay Station, overlooking Sydney Harbour. Installed more than fifteen years ago, the seats have stood the test of time. Still in good condition, they continue to provide travellers with a place to pause along their journey and enjoy the view. With helpful armrests and an upright profile, the seats meet DDA standards for accessibility.
Bovis Lend Lease chose Street Furniture Australia (SFA) for their major refurbishment project of the Parramatta Transport Interchange. In order to satisfy stringent product requirements, SFA prepared special designs and manufactured a range of product samples. The final seat design, the all-cast aluminium Concourse Seat (CML105), is an integral part of the station’s upgrade.
