A bursting leaf design perforates bright yellow custom seat backs designed by Cardno for the new neighbourhood of Providence Estate in South Ripley.

The mild steel with zinc phosphate panels, powder coated in Brilliant Yellow, are fixed onto pre-cast concrete seats in two parkland areas designed for families to meet in community backyards.

“We used the floral motif on the back rests of these seats to incorporate nature, which is an integral part of this modern and vibrant community,” says Dallas Ellis, Graphic Designer with Cardno.

“These bright yellow seating elements were designed to add an element of vibrancy to the neighbourhood parks and hubs, forming a backbone throughout the Providence parklands.

“The brilliant yellow is also part of the estate branding suite, adding a contemporary feel to these areas.”

Two seating lengths cater for group and individual settings, with panels 1500mm and 600mm long each featuring the bespoke leaf pattern.

Dotted amongst natural sandstone and concrete plinths, the seats provide a place to chat and watch the kids play on the lawn – when they’re not enjoying the Splash ‘N Play Park, also designed by Cardno, down the road.

“There has been great response from the local community and developer, with a view to evolve and develop similar seating within the town centre drawing on the brand’s eclectic palette of patterns and colours,” says Ellis.

“Street Furniture Australia realised our design when creating these seating elements with a high level of finish and attention to detail and safety standards.”

Street Furniture Australia collaborated with the designer on the technical aspects of the laser cut pattern. The installation was carried out by Interface Landscapes.
