Berala Public School in NSW has selected Mall Curved Slim Benches for a new Yarning Circle in the playground – a place to conduct outdoor learning classes.

The benches feature Wood Without Worry woodgrain aluminium battens, in Spotted Gum, and Night Sky frames.

The woodgrain battens provide a timber look with high durability, and are easy to clean. They do not require oiling like real timber – only a wipe down with water when necessary. This saves custodians on maintenance costs.

Yarning circles are important within Aboriginal culture and Torres Strait Islander culture. They are often used in Australian schools as part of outdoor education programs, for students to actively listen to others’ views, take turns to talk and to promote reciprocal sharing and learning.
