Come on our Urban Design PPN EXPO tour during the 2018 ASLA Meeting in Philadelphia and see how we’ve quantified the impact of design with activation projects in Australia.

Earn PDH by joining this Professional Practice Network (PPN) tour on Sunday October 21, from 9.45am to 10.45am – go to PPN Live to register, only 30 places available. The Expo is located at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, from October 19-22, 2018.

Many of us have seen the effects of great place design on a community’s social and mental health, and business prosperity. Most of your clients would value these effects, if they could be proven with hard data. You might have considered how smart city technologies can help. Join us to examine two Australian case studies that aim to quantify the impact of design, with amazing results.

In 2016 #BackyardExperiment, an eight-day activation in Canberra, attracted nearly 250% more dwellers to spend time in a thoroughfare. Social groups increased by up to 780%. Learn how we achieved this, how we measured it, and how we hope to create similar results with user-centered design in a second six-month project.

Take these findings home to show your clients, using the power of data to demonstrate why great place design and landscape architecture is a MUST.

Through this talk we aim to:

  1. Explore ways to quantify the impact of great place design.
  2. Understand how engaging the community and user-centered design techniques can benefit place activation.
  3. Combine human stories with data for compelling case studies that demonstrate the true value of great place design.

We are one of four companies presenting on the tour, the fourth stop at around 10.34am after talks by Scofield, Victor Stanley and WunderCovers.

Please stop by for a visit at Booth 1439, where we are launching the PowerMe™ charging table and Aria Seating System. Say g’day, recharge your phone, and try our new Build ARIA augmented reality app.
