Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority (SHFA) has placed a number of SFA’s stylish and iconic Arqua Stations along the foreshore of Circular Quay East. The Arqua Station is a complete system that provides fresh tap or filtered water to public spaces. First launched in 2008, the public drinking fountain and water-refill pole was the result of a collaboration with environmental group Do Something!, in order to reduce the impact of disposable plastic bottles on overall landfill. The innovative fountain is designed without a basin, so that litter is not collected (causing blockage) and residual water trickles easily down a sculptural blade.
