The Park range has undergone a transformation with a focus on inclusive design. Park seating and tables are now DDA-compliant, offering two wheelchair-accessible configurations.

Contest winner: Awkward Family Photo

120 landscape architects gather at the annual Jazz at The Mint

The Street Furniture Australia factory, in Regents Park, Western Sydney, is both a manufacturing hub and R&D studio for our Australian-designed and made street furniture products. The bracket you’ve been waiting for

A simple solution inspired by popular demand, Street Furniture Australia’s new plinth bracket allows seats and benches to fix straight onto concrete and eliminates the need to design and fabricate custom parts. After being inundated with requests to mount our seats on plinths, SFA production manager Christopher Morgan used our in-house 3D printer to create a model for a bracket to match our benches and seats. The new plinth bracket now joins our standard range, received with interest by councils and landscape architects. The bracket is available, at no extra cost, for our Galleria, Concourse and Mall benches, slim benches and seats, with battens in Jarrah, anodised aluminium or powder coated in any colour. RSL revives memorial fountain

War memorials in towns across the country are being restored to honour the Centenary of Anzac, with a new drinking fountain the latest upgrade to Taree’s Fotheringham Park. The original fountain was installed in 1960 by the Manning River Air Force Association, but fell into disrepair. Some 55 years later an Arqua Drinking Fountain from Street Furniture Australia takes its place, providing running water again with disabled access and a special feature for pets. Darcy Elbourne, senior vice president of the Taree RSL, which is leading the upgrade, says the fountain is both a valuable memorial to air force personnel and a functional asset for the park. What is the DDA? The Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (‘the DDA’) makes it against the law for public places to be inaccessible to people with a disability. A person with a disability has a right to have access to places used by the public. New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia have each developed transport action plans and strategies with a commitment to accessible transport compliant with the DDA and Transport Standards.
